Buffer OS is our internal guide for how we work together using tools like Linear, Slack, and Campsite. This documentation is here to bring more clarity and consistency to how we manage projects and collaborate across the team, while also giving space for flexibility when needed.

Setting up a new project at Buffer
When starting a new project at Buffer, here’s how we recommend setting it up across our tools.
- Create a new project in Linear
- Add it to an existing initiative if applicable
- Create a new Slack channel (if needed for day-to-day collaboration)
- Format:
#proj-[name-of-project]
- Integrate the Linear project with the Slack channel
- Use an existing Campsite space or start a new one (for broader project context and updates)
- Most projects can live in broader camps like Marketing, Engineering, etc.
Wrapping Up a Project:
- Mark the project as completed in Linear
- Resolve related Campsite posts
- Archive the Slack channel if no longer needed
