While Slack is primarily our space for real-time conversation and culture, it also plays a supporting role in how we manage projects day to day. This page outlines how Slack fits into our broader project management ecosystem and how we use it most effectively alongside Linear, Campsite, and Notion.

Slack is a complementary tool to Linear, Campsite, and Notion. It helps us:

• Share timely updates and reminders about in-progress work
• Flag potential blockers or urgent questions
• Coordinate real-time collaboration (e.g. working through something together on Zoom)
• Send quick nudges like "ready for review" or "any blockers here?"
• Keep energy high by celebrating milestones or progress in real time 🎉

Project-based channels

We typically create temporary Slack channels for cross-functional projects using the proj- prefix (e.g., #proj-retreat-planning, #proj-v2-launch). These channels:

• Are linked to a Linear project so all Linear project updates are also shared in the channel
• Act as a real-time collaboration space
• Are archived once the project is complete
• Are public by default (unless there’s a sensitive reason not to be)

Within these channels, we encourage:

• Pinning important links (Notion docs, Linear views, Campsite updates)
• Threading discussions to keep conversations organized
• Clear nudges or handoffs, like "@name this is ready for design now"
