Notion is our source of truth for shared knowledge, documentation, and evergreen content. It’s where we go to document how we work, why we do things the way we do, and where to find key information across teams.

While Linear tracks tasks, Campsite captures async discussions, and Slack supports real-time collaboration, Notion is where we organize knowledge for the long haul.

We use Notion to:

• Document how we work – processes, best practices, rituals
• Centralize team resources – guides, templates, and helpful links
• Share evergreen info – like team goals, roles, org structure, and working agreements
• Plan and prepare – outlines, pre-mortems, content calendars, and more
• Host team workspaces – including Planning pages, Roadmaps, and Strategy docs

The Buffer Notion ****Teamspace is divided into two sections:

1. Buffer Handbook: A public-facing collection of guides, resources, and team processes.
2. ‣ A private area for project work, notes, and internal collaboration, where each team has their own space.

The Buffer Handbook is meant to house evergreen content that we plan to share publicly, while Internal Collaboration remains private for team-specific work.

TL;DR Buffer Handbook is public and Internal Collaboration is private and for internal work.

Team Workspaces in Notion

Each team at Buffer has a dedicated space in Notion within two key areas: the Buffer Handbook and Internal Collaboration. These workspaces help your team stay organized and also make it easy for other teammates to understand how you work.

A quick rule of thumb:

• Use Buffer Handbook for evergreen, public-facing content
• Use Internal Collaboration for private, in-progress, or working docs
