“PTO” = “paid time off”

Taking time off and recharging is critical to doing your best work. We’d love to help everyone on the team feel great about planning and taking restorative time away. Through Buffer’s Flexible Time Off Policy, teammates can take as much or as little time off as they want. There is no annual cap on paid flexible time off.

We encourage team members to take a minimum of 3 weeks (12 work days) of vacation throughout the year, in addition to public and religious holidays.

Vacation days are not accrued. Please use your best judgement, and communicate with your team, about when and how to take time to step away from day-to-day work. Vacation time is in addition to public and religious holidays that you observe, as well as Family leave. (Family leave is not vacation! 😅)

There is no maximum time-off recommendation, but please use your judgement and communicate with your team and manager well in advance. Teammates took an average of 16 days of vacation in 2022. Managers will provide guidance and feedback on requests that go significantly above this amount.

In order to enjoy some well-earned days of rest, please discuss the dates with your manager, then notify your team, and update your availability in Timetastic, Google Calendar, and Slack.
