Unlike in a written discussion, it’s much harder to share context from a Zoom meeting later, unless you prepare for it. So in advance, please consider the topic, the possible audience, and the needs of the situation accordingly, and choose one or more options below when appropriate.
- Recording a meeting: this is a great option if there are folks on the team who may want to catch-up on the discussion, for example those in a different timezone. This is the most transparent option. On some sensitive subjects, it may be harder to speak openly if a meeting is being recorded, so you may choose not to do this. Please use your judgement.
- Taking notes: this is a great option for helping participants align on the takeaways of the meeting, and for sharing the highlights with more Bufferoos. Consider asking for a volunteer to take notes, or rotating if it’s a standing meeting.
- Summarizing: this is a great option for when there is a decision from the discussion that should be proactively communicated with a wider group. This can be done by a volunteer or the meeting host/leader.
