You'll receive your pay on a semi-monthly basis. We run both US and international payroll on the 15th and 30th/31st of each month. Pay issued on the 15th covers the period between the 1st-15th of the month. Pay issued on the 30th/31st covers the period between the 16th-30th/31st.
Our 2 week pay periods are based on 86.67 hours. This is calculated by taking (40hours/week)*(52 week/yr) and dividing it by our total number of paydays in a given year (24). If you start mid-way through a pay period (and for all other pro-rating purposes!) we will take the number of hours worked in a pay period and multiply that by your hourly rate. Your hourly rate is calculated by taking: (annual salary/52 weeks/40 hours).
For example, if you start on the 7th of the month we will take 86.67 hours/# workdays (11) in the period * # workdays worked = 55.15 hours. We’ll multiply this by your hourly rate to get your pay, which will be issued on the 15th.
For those on the PEO model, the PEO will make sure that pay is issued according to local laws. For Canada, pay will be administered on the 15th of the month and the last day of the month.
Our internal Finance team takes care of US payroll. US teammates will have their paychecks issued via ACH and can pull pay stubs directly from Zenefits.
International payroll is currently managed by our Finance team and is issued via wire transfer through Transfermate. Paystubs are created manually, so please reach out to Finance if you need a paystub created (say, for banking purposes or immigration details).
For our US employees, you can expect the following taxes to be withheld from your paycheck each pay period:
If you opt-in to insurance coverage for your dependents, we will withhold the 50% premium coverage from your paycheck. To calculate the cost of dependent coverage for health insurance, please use this calculator.
