One of the ways that we stay connected as a remote team is with Pair Calls. We use a Slack app called “Donut” to randomly match two Bufferoos together every two weeks. This is designed to be fun, light-weight, and casual. The goal is to help us stay connected as a tight-knit team. This makes work more fun, and it makes collaboration easier and more effective.

Join the Slack channel called “people-pairs” to participate.

Choose a 30-minute time that works for both people’s calendars, and meet over zoom.

• If you haven’t met before, do a meet & greet: share a bit about yourself, your role, and maybe how you ended up at Buffer, doing what you’re doing.
• If you have met before, catch up! Share what’s been going on in your lives recently, what you’ve been working on lately, and anything else you feel like chatting about!

If one person needs to cancel, try to make an effort to reschedule, but it’s also okay if it doesn’t work out every time. If that ends up being the case, consider sending each other a Loom video with a few minutes of what you’ve been up to.
