TLDR: If you know someone who would be a good addition to Buffer we will reward you a referral bonus of $1000 (before taxes) if you refer a candidate and they are hired! An additional diversity referral bonus of $500 (before taxes) will be paid for hired referrals of candidates from underrepresented identity groups, for a total bonus of $1500.

Buffer Referral Guide:
- We welcome all Buffer teammates to refer candidates!
- Buffer teammates who are not eligible for the referral bonus:
- those at Director level and above
- teammates directly related to the hiring process (i.e., recruiters, hiring managers, or members of the People team)
- We define “underrepresented” as the following:
- Candidates who are referred will be evaluated using the same criteria as other candidates.
- We are so grateful for all referrals! Please keep in mind that your referral may not advance in the process.
- The bonus will be paid out once an offer is accepted by the candidate referred.
- Note: Referral bonus payments will be issued during normal payroll on the 15th and 30/31st of the month.

We want to make it as easy as possible to submit a referral! Feel free to:
- First, encourage the person to apply!
- Please note that we don’t recommend hiring spouses, partners, or very close family members of existing Bufferoos because of the complexity it introduces for our small team. But we welcome referrals from friends, friends-of-friends, former colleagues, and others in your network.
